- Our government should act as a model world citizen. Our government should lead in providing for the well-being of all people and in equitably distributing global resources.
- Our government should not contribute to the monopolization of wealth, resources, and power to benefit a few.
- Our government should not instigate wars.
Pursue non-military solutions to international conflict.
- We favor directing government resources for people's needs, such as, but not limited to the following: excellent pre-K-12 education; widely available and well-funded public higher education; decent housing and public transportation; affordable high quality health care for all; clean air, water, and communities; creation of living wage sustainable jobs; and support for families.
- We oppose policies of corporate welfare that enrich the wealthy few at the expense of the majority.
Allocate resources to meet human needs.
- We value and respect our religious and ethnic differences. We honor the contributions of diverse groups, such as people of color, the economically disadvantaged, and immigrants.
- We reject the rush to repressive measures in the name of security.
- We stand in defense of our constitutional civil liberties. We cannot be secure by limiting those liberties - dissent is essential for a healthy democracy.
- We oppose all racism and anti-immigrant violence and bigotry.
- We favor airing diverse views through a democratic and accessible mass media.
Defend and preserve our civil liberties.
- We seek to effect change by engaging, through grassroots activism, those currently left out of the political process.
- We oppose the high degree of influence over politicians and policy exerted by corporations and wealthy individuals.
- Politicians should work for and be accountable to the people they represent.
- We support restoring the balance of power in our government. We are opposed to unilateral decision-making by any one branch of government.
